The aim of the study day:
In this in depth tour at the Biblical site of Megiddo, we will focus on understanding the history and archaeology of the site in 2 formative periods in its history: the Canaanite period and the Iron age 2 (the First Temple period), with extended reference to the problem of the United Monarchy (in the reign of Solomon) and the Minimalist-Maximalist controversy.

Meeting Point: Visitor Center, National Park Megiddo
Schedule:
9:00-10:00 - Introductory session
10:00-12:00 - The Canaanite Gate (“Solomon’s Gate”), the Northern Palace, and the Canaanite temples
12:00-13:00 - Lunch break.
13:00-13:30 - The viewpoint
13:30-15:00 - The Southern Palace, the southern stables, and the water system.
